Our 2018 lineup of meeting speakers:
- March 20, 2018: Annual welcome and organizational meeting. Open Board Meeting with all members. All welcome. No speaker.
- April 17, 2018: Denise Ferguson, on “Duties of the Town Clerk”
- May 15, 2018: 6pm: Meet at Rural Museum to remove wall hangings; followed by 7pm: Brief meeting will follow at the Edinburg Community Center
- June 19, 2018: 6pm: Pot Luck Dinner followed by 7pm: John Ferguson on “The 50s in Northville & Sacandaga Park”
- July 17, 2018: Discussion of EHS museum collections and ideas for improvements
- August 21, 2018: Town of Edinburg Historian Priscilla Edwards will lead a field trip to tour Edinburg Cemetery On the Edinburg-Northville Road by the Edinburg Common School. School children are invited to participate. This meeting is not at the community center, but some car pooling will be arranged from there or you can drive directly to the site. It will be followed at 8pm by a Brief Meeting with a Nominations Report.
- September 18, 2018: 6 pm Pot Luck Dinner followed by 7 p.m. meeting. This is an important business meeting with the election of new officers and trustees and collection of dues. Bring a dinner dish or other food item to share if you can. The potluck dinner starts at 6 pm, one hour before the regular meeting.
- October 16, 2018: Samantha Hall-Saladino & Lauren Roberts on “Ghosts of Sacandaga”
- November 20, 2018:Matt Ginter on “Raising Bees”. Veterans are invited to our last meeting of the year. Pie will be served.
Our big community event in 2018 is:
- September 29, 2018: Saturday – 10 am to 3 pm – EDINBURG FALL FESTIVAL
We will not be having an Edinburg Day in July.
Also, EHS provides cookies for the December 1 – Tree Lighting in Edinburg.
Board Meeting Dates: usually 2nd Wednesday of each month – 7:00 p.m. @ Edinburg Community Center (all members are welcome to attend)
