Our 2017 lineup of meeting speakers:
- March 21, 2017: Annual welcome and organizational meeting. All welcome. No speaker.
- April 18, 2017: André Garand, Master Carpenter on “Restoration of Old Buildings”
- May 16, 2017: David Brooks, Education Director at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site on “History and Hearsay” with a virtual tour and interesting tales from along the Erie Canal & Fort Hunter. Spring Pot Luck Dinner starts at 6 p.m.
- June 20, 2017: Jason Kemper, Great Sacandaga Lake Advisory Council will speak about the Council and the progress of the film on the creation of the lake
- July 18, 2017: Ben Kemp “Civil War Veterans” – reenactor at Grant’s Cottage
- August 15, 2017: Town of Edinburg Historian Priscilla Edwards will lead a field trip to tour Edinburg Hill Cemetery. School children are invited to participate. This meeting is not at the community center, but some car pooling will be arranged from there or you can drive directly to the site.
- September 19, 2017: 6 pm Pot Luck Dinner followed by 7 p.m. meeting. This is an important business meeting with the election of new officers and trustees. Bring a dinner dish or other food item to share if you can. The potluck dinner starts at 6 pm, one hour before the regular meeting.
- October 17, 2017: Dave Davidson, Town of Day Historian will speak on Day’s History
- November 21, 2017: CANCELLED DUE TO FIRE AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER. Last meeting of the year. Please join us for Pies and Reminiscences.
Our two big community events in 2017 are:
- July 15, 2017: Saturday – 9 am to 3 pm – the 26th ANNUAL HISTORIC “EDINBURGH” DAY
- September 30, 2017: Saturday – 10 am to 3 pm – EDINBURG FALL FESTIVAL
