Monthly Meetings (2015)

Meetings are free & and open to the public.
They are held at the Edinburg Community Center at 47 Military Road, Edinburg, NY 12134.
Meetings are the third Tuesday of the month March through November.
They start at 7pm, following a brief business meeting.
Refreshments are served after the talk.
Our 2015 lineup of meeting speakers:
  • March 17, 2015: Annual welcome and organizational meeting. All welcome. No speaker.
  • April 21, 2015: This will be a presentation by a “surprise” guest [Town of Edinburg Supervisor, Jean Raymond, who spoke about changes in Edinburg durng her years as supervisor].
  • May 19, 2015: John Olmstead will speak on the history of the Edinburg Recycling Center.
  • June 16, 2015: Marty Podskoch, author of Adirondack 102 Club, will talk about his book.
  • July 21, 2015: “House Stories” — a presentation by members of the EHS on the stories of their own homes
  • August 18, 2015: A field trip to furniture maker Rusty Gleaves‘ studio in Hope Falls. NOTE: This meeting is not at the community center, but some car pooling will be arranged from there to William Gleaves Woodworking in Hope Falls or you can drive directly to the studio.
  • September 15, 2015: This is an important business meeting with the election of new officers and trustees. We will also hear about the 2015 Nellie Tyrrell award winners, as they and their classmates and teacher (Chad Sitts) talk about local history.
  • October 20, 2015: Steven Engelhart, Executive Director of Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), will give a presentation on different architectural styles of houses in the Adirondacks.
  • November 17, 2015: Last meeting of the year. Please join us for Pies and Reminiscences.
