At least 1,932 people visited the Copeland Covered Bridge off North Shore Road in 2025, based on the names of people who signed in at the historic site. That tops the 1,886-plus who visited in there in 2024, and people have visited every month of the year, it was noted at a recent society board meeting.
Arad Copeland built the bridge starting in 1879 on land owned along Beecher Creek, which now flows into the Great Sacandaga Lake. It spans 35 feet and is the only queen post truss bridge (outer supports are angled toward the center) in Saratoga County. It was placed on the New York State National Register in 1998.
The bridge has become a popular place for wedding photos.
